Married with 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

I have now been a member of the Parish council for some 10 years. I have had a variety of careers during my working life starting in the WRNS as a radar wren before being awarded a commission as a WRNS officer. I have experience in company management, working with charities and have been a project officer for the Gloucestershire Police force. I have project managed self builds and have held the post of Chair of both the planning group for the PC as well as Chair of the PC. I have lived and worked both overseas as well as throughout the UK and returned to my home area some 20 years ago. I feel I bring a variety of skills and experience to the PC and am very proud of being a resident of Upton St Leonards.

Cllr. David Hunt

I have had the pleasure of living in Upton for 53 years, with membership of the Parish Council for the past 30 years, including 6 years in the'chairman' role. Until recently I have co-ordinated management issues at our Recreation Ground on behalf of the Council. My home is in the centre of the village and I'm married to Jackie with two children, Matthew and Hannah. Retired in 2000, my final employment was as Head of Planning and Technical Services at Bromsgrove District Council, giving me a background and range of experience helpful in dealing with planning issues that may impact our Parish from time to time. Other voluntary work has included involvement as a founder member of the Jet Age Museum with over 20 years as a Trustee. I am currently Vice President of the Museum. The Museum tells the story of our aviation history in and around the site of the old 'Gloster' aircraft factory at Coopers Edge and is working with our Parish to celebrate this locally, within the new housing area.

I was born in the village and have lived here all my life. I am married to my husband Lachlan (Mac). I have been on the PC for several years now and am Allotment representative. I am also on two other committees in the village, BMI and Village Show. I very much love living in Upton, even though I have seen many changes over my lifetime it is and will always be a very special place to me. HOME.

I have lived in Upton for over 40 years. I am interested in the village overall. We are lucky to have a lovely place to live and get very disappointed when people cause damage or disrespect what we have.

The Glebe field holds an interest for me as we had a little dog who used to love to race around there with all her dog friends and hopefully we will soon have a new one who will be the same. It does upset me when dog owners fail to clear up after their four legged friend there and around the village.

I hope to be able to continue as a Parish Councillor for a few more years.

I have lived in Coopers Edge since 2010. I have always been interested in the community and set up Coopers Edge football club in 2012. This helped raised my profile within the community and not long after I became a Parish councillor for Upton St Leonards. My children attend the local school and I often volunteer to listen to key stage 1 children read. I also coach youth football teams. In 2024, I was successfully elected to role of District Councillor and am keen to ensure the voices of residents of the Parish are represented at Stroud District Council.

Cllr. Andrew Skelton Avatar

Cllr. Andrew Skelton

I have lived in the Parish for most of my life, having gone to both Upton Infants and Upton Primary Schools. Spent many times being involved with the Bledisloe Cup and growing up with many of the still current Villagers, I have seen the Village mature into what it is today.

In my professional career I have been involved in running and owning several tech businesses having sold the most recent one. I enjoy various hobbies that get me out and about in the parish. I am currently Chairman of the BMI Club, I believe I have a diplomatic and logical approach to things and will always listen to each side of a story before making a decision.
