The Allotments

The village of Upton St Leonards is lucky to have two Allotment sites with an additional site to be added at Coopers Edge in 2024. Most people I expect are aware of the Perry Orchard site, on the junction of Bondend Road and Perry Orchard. However we also have a lovely site on The Stanley near the top with the junction of the High Street.

These sites have been running for many years and each site has a volunteer manager.

Perry Orchard is managed by David Fleming, he is very dedicated and ensures that the allotment site is maintained to the highest standards.

The Stanley site is managed by Peter Macey who has done the job for many years and is well liked by the allotment holders, they have also been arranging get togethers.

Any problems on the sites would be handled by the managers, by Roy Balgoblin who is the Parish Clerk or by Councillor Mary McLachlan, who is the Allotment Chairperson on the Parish Council.

If you are interested in having an allotment, you are very welcome to visit both sites to have a look. If you are new to the Parish and would like to meet people, or are trying to get fit and also produce good healthy food, then either contact the Parish Clerk whose office is situated in the village hall who will advise on the cost of plots then fill in the application form online or download it and deliver to the village hall.

It could be possible that there is a waiting list but if you have no preference regarding which site you would like your plot then you may get one sooner. Priority will be given to Parishioners of Upton St Leonards Parish.
